Sports Banquet Held

St. John Bosco Academy held a joint sports banquet for volleyball and basketball teams on Saturday, March 29.


Volleyball: Receiving the Stalwart Award for behind the scenes work on research was Julia Wassmuth.  Sarah Waters received the Chameleon Award for her ability to play any role.  The Evolution Award went to Rachel Sonnen due to her push to grow as a player.  Noelle Chmelik received the Captain Crunch Award for her team leadership. The Beast Mode award for personal growth went to Savannah Perrin.  CeCe Remacle received the Put Me In Coach Award for her can-do attitude. Catherine Beckman earned the Golden Globe for being well-rounded in her play.  The Zen Award went to Catherine Seubert for being reliable and never rattled.  Miah Mager received the Fearless Award for always being ready to jump into action.  Presley Schoo received the Secret Weapon Award for always being optimistic and uplifting to her team.  The Golden Retriever Award went to Madeline Wassmuth for bringing good insight to team strategy.

In Girls' Basketball, the team voted on awards.  For Varsity, most inspirational was Rachel Sonnen, most improved: Catherine Seubert, 6th Man: Savannah Perrin, MVP: Julia Wassmuth.  The Patriot Award for being excelsior on and off the court went to Noelle Chmelik.

On JV the most inspirational went to Presley Schoo, most improved: Madeline Wassmuth, 6th Man: Brianne Nuxoll, MVP: Catherine Beckman and Patriot Award: Miah Mager.

Julia Wassmuth was awarded a plaque for the 500+ point club, as she scored 649 points over her four years.

In Boys' Basketball the awards are based on season stats.  The Lightning Thief Award for most steals went to Cody Weckman.  He also received the Dish Master Award for most assists and the Bucket Brigade Award for most points.  Nathan Wassmuth received the Sultan of Swat Award for most blocks and the Retrieval Specialist Award for most rebounds.  All the players received a varsity medal.
