

No Yawning for these Sleeping Beauties
Those who attended this weekend's Sleeping Beauty experienced joy, fear, awe and wonder but none could say the outstanding performances induced sleep. The fairies were magical, and Malificent was frightening. Her army of evil crows kept the crowds cowering as they hunted down Sleeping Beauty with their terrifying stomping and cawing. With dazzling swordsmanship, Prince Phillip fought his way past Malificent's henchman, and then had to battle a huge dragon that swayed menaci


Pre-Easter Egg Drop
Five students built successful egg protectors in a recent egg drop contest held at Summit Academy. Students learned about potential and kinetic energy and the forces of gravity, drag and impact. They then worked to build an egg protector that would minimize impact and maximize drag which would allow their egg to survive a 16' fall. Only five of the eggs survived the fall.


Juniors and Seniors breathe a sigh of relief after Thesis presentations
Summit Academy held their junior-senior thesis presentations with three community judges over the last week. The thesis presentations are similar to a senior project in that each student chooses a topic and a mentor. The topic is researched over several months and the students present their findings to a panel of judges. This year's judges were Eileen Uhlenkott, Lu Crea and Heidi Waters.
