Pre-Easter Egg Drop

Catherine Seubert, Nathan Wassmuth and Bianca Swanstrom working on their egg protectors.

Five students built successful egg protectors in a recent egg drop contest held at Summit Academy.  Students learned about potential and kinetic energy and the forces of gravity, drag and impact.  They then worked to build an egg protector that would minimize impact and maximize drag which would allow their egg to survive a 16' fall.  Only five of the eggs survived the fall.

The winners with unbroken eggs were from left to right: Brayden Bagley, Joey Waters, Tommy Rose, Wyatt Crea and Ellie Lovetere.
