

5/6 Creates Dime-sized Solar Model
This week in Astronomy, the 5/6 grade learned about understanding distance in our solar system. If each student was the size of a dime, they would stretch from the school to the end of the driveway to get from the Sun to the Kuiper Belt. Imagine the distance if we used a basketball for the scale!


SJB Students win writing contests
St. John Bosco Academy is proud to announce that four students won prizes in the recent VFW writing and speaking contests. The VFW holds the competition each year for students throughout the area. Students in grades 6-8 participate in the Patriot's Pen essay contest and students in 9-12 compete in the Voice of Democracy speech contest. The top three in each contest are awarded prizes, with the 1st place winner's entry sent to the state level for further competition. For the


Advent Reflections
Students in ninth and tenth grade provided a short advent reflection after morning prayer each day throughout advent. The reflections were usually based on the Mass readings for the day and gave examples and encouragement for all students to live our their faith.


Alumni Gather for Mass & Catching up
Christmas break provided a chance for alumni to gather and celebrate Mass with Fr. Joseph Lustig ('09) who was home for a short break from his regular parish duties. Eighteen alumni with their spouses and children attended the Mass and had a potluck dinner following. They all enjoyed the chance to catch up!
